  Eriksson had earlier expressed his lifelong affection for Liverpool and wanted to fulfil a dream of managing the Merseyside outfit. The former manager, who is fighting terminal pancreatic cancer, will see his wish granted during the annual LFC Foundation charity match against Ajax Legends as the 75-year-old Swede steps in to take charge at Anfield.

They greeted each other as "legends" and Eriksson congratulated Klopp for a stellar nine-year spell on Merseyside, which is set to come to an end in the summer.
